I find that the more my hand-drawing/painting skills improve, the harder it is for me to "think collage." I expect it's likely some sort of decluttering that goes on, mentally, when you imagineer a drawing or painting, versus the additive nature of collage, which is (for me anyway) more organic and less planned.
Wonder if other people experience this... ?
