Chunky books, the sequel
I'm still working on assembling several chunky books and will be for a long time to come; they're just too fun, textured, chunky, and beautiful to set aside for long. And I'm looking for fresh artists to swap chunky pages with! You don't have to be established, professional, or active in mail art trading; just eager to do your best work and swap with me.
If you'd like to trade 4x4 artwork with me, below are the themes I'm currently collecting for books. Please contact me to discuss swapping art at: shelli AT potbellyarts DOT com, or you can simply click on the "email me" button under my photograph. I'm located in northern California, USA, and will ship anywhere in exchange for your work. I'll be binding my chunky book pages on the LEFT, so decorate your 4x4 all over, but leave the left 1/2" edge free of embellishments so I can punch holes and add a wire spiral binding. We can swap one page, two, or more; let's be in touch.
Can't wait to hear from you!
Below, a peek at two books I've already assembled and bound. Fun!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
18th Century France: Beauty, Fashion & Culture
- DO'S: Please use lots of pinks, beiges, warm gold metallics, & bonbon colors. Artistic nudes okay.
- DON'TS: No digital work on this one, please
- COMMENTS: Think Sofia Coppola's recent adaptation of "Marie Antoinette" for the tone & feel I'm after. Fancy & feminine, pretty & pastel, would be great!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Funky Chunky Zetti
- DO'S: I loves me some stripey legs and checkerboard designs; please use lots of black and white. Artistic nudes okay.
- DON'TS: No digital work on this one, please
- COMMENTS: I particularly enjoy children, women, and interesting text in the Zetti style.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shoes
- DO'S: I'm after portraits of shoes from all eras. I prefer women's and children's shoes.
- DON'TS: No digital work on this one, please
- COMMENTS: I'd love to receive renderings of antique shoes (18th Century france, asian, early American) and/or high fashion, modern couture shoes (Manolo Blahnik, Prada, Christian Louboutain.)

I pop by from time to time to see what wonderful creations you are making Shelli and I have got to say that I simply love your chunky book style. Now if you are ever inspired by anything blue which could be a beautiful keep sake for baby Oliver please remember me.
Keep on creating
lots of love
