The Artist is the person who makes life more interesting or beautiful, more understandable or mysterious, or probably, in the best sense, more wonderful.
~ George Bellows
There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot, but there are others who with the help of their art and intelligence, transform a yellow spot into sun.
For __________ at illustratedATCs, for our holiday gift swap. He's my first ever sock monster and I wub him and will hate to see him go, but the consoling thing is, he'll be even more loved where he's going, I think, perhaps. So it's all good.
Bye bye, Pete! Bon voyage!

He's totally wubable!! Pssssst. Did you run out of socks for his other arm? ;o) Heehee
Thanks, Aleta, for your cute comment. Actually, the person he's going to doesn't love "cute" and I seem incapable of making things that are truly odd and wonky without bending toward the cute side of life, myself. So I was just trying to mix it up a little bit, make things a little less cute-predictable, to please her.
Hey Shel! My little guy Ben, has fallen head over heels in LOVE with your One Armed Pete. Seriously, he has been on me for almost a week now to make him his own sock monster! I think you've just made a fan for life! And.. he thinks the one arm thing is super COOL. Ben is requesting a one legged monster for himself. I may just have to give this a whirl after the holidays are over.
It's really easy; there are lots of tutorials online. I recommend the book STUPID STOCK CREATURES which helped a lot with the basic understanding behind putting these together. Ben obviously has exceptional taste, by the way. :)
